● ARCHITECT’S ALPHABET ●

E as in sketch.

First excitements, first intentions, first palpitations.
These first strokes that give the outline of a project solicit the senses. Their spontaneous and dynamic character around forms and spaces barely mastered arouse emotion.

The hand, free, sensitive, authentic and spirited of the designer, calls out to a look on the lookout for the heart.

The sketch certainly translates the desires, the needs and the constraints, but above all it accompanies the poetry and the history of the project.
It is a massive weapon of seduction capable of making people dream and marvel.

In his film “Sketches”, Sydney Pollack honors the great architect Franck Gehry, famous for his monumental achievements, such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris, where his numerous sketches are on display.

Our own Franck Gehry, the most experienced in the sketching exercise, is undeniably Raphaël Chauvet, founder and associate director of the Bulle Architecte agency.
His black markers often look grey and his tracing paper rolls are staggered!
