● ARCHITECT’S ALPHABET ●

After introducing you to the beautiful A of Architect, it’s time to work on a well-structured B, hot as a fire, that we want to take in full force : the B of Wood.

To beech or not to beech? The question no longer arises. Today, wood is used in all types of construction and on all floors.

Wood is indeed a High Teck material that has many technical, architectural and environmental advantages.
Robust, natural, recyclable, reusable, warm and aesthetic, it can be used in many ways in the building industry: as structural material, cladding, decoration or even insulation…
Its thermal performances, its technical qualities (the mechanical resistance/density ratio is very high: 60kg of resinous wood = 80kg of steel = 300kg of concrete) and its speed of execution in dry process justify its growing success.

Also popular for reducing the carbon footprint of the building sector, this craze will be further amplified with the RE 2020.

Currently victim of its success, we touch wood so that the difficulties related to its soaring prices and its shortage are quickly resolved. The forest-wood sector is working hard not to slow down such a beautiful expansion which is far from being a fashion effect for the one which we are sure will be THE material of the 21st century, after stone, steel and concrete.

At Bulle, you know, it’s all about the wood. Our birch? To come out of the woodwork with ambitious projects that value the material and make sense. It is out of the question to leave in all “gasoline” and to saw the branch on which we are sitting. We make every effort to keep the wood local in order to support the industry in our region and to reduce the carbon footprint of our sites.

We present you two equipments that offer structures where we have put forward the wood in all its mechanical, plastic and aesthetic characteristics. We have privileged the maritime pine of Landes de Gascogne, 120 m3 to cover 1050 m².

The Port hall delivered in 2019 in Le Teich (33), near the Ornithological Park, was nominated by the Trophée Séquence bois 2020 in the Low Impact category and in the Tectonic & technicality category. It was also visited during the Woodrise professional meetings organized by Fibois Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Fibois Landes de Gascogne and the FCBA technological institute.

In the same vein, last November we delivered the Haillan market hall, whose wood facets are inspired by the poetic world of origami.
